Sandra L.R. Durand, CPM

Ms. Durand joined the firm in 1966 as a Property Manager. Continuing in the property management division, Ms. Durand became an officer of NHD Property Management Company in 1979. In 1998, Ms. Durand purchased the company from her partners.

With thirty-eight years experience, Ms. Durand is the Principal and President of Durand & Associates Property Management, Inc. Her extensive management skills and experience have been applied throughout a $120,000,000 management portfolio. Ms. Durand is responsible for overseeing the company's property management and evaluation of physical operations for the company, which consists of long-range management plans, annual budgeting, maintenance and marketing supervision. At NHD, as a general partner in numerous real estate investments, she was involved in property acquisition and dispositions.

Ms. Durand is a CPM (Certified Property Manager), a designation awarded by the Institute of Real Estate Management. She is a past President of the Minnesota Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management and Minnesota Manufactured Housing Association. She was inducted into MMHA's Hall of Fame in 2001 for service and dedication to Minnesota's Manufactured Housing Industry. She has served as an Officer and on the Board of Directors of Minnesota Multi Housing Association, the National Apartment Association and has instructed numerous Real Estate management courses in the Twin Cities and out state Minnesota. Ms. Durand holds a Minnesota Brokers License, is a member of the Board of Realtors, the Institute of Real Estate Management, Community Associations Institute and Minnesota Manufactured Housing Association.

David E. Katz, CFO

Mr. Katz joined the firm in 1998 after spending four years as an Accounting Manager for a manufacturing company in Plymouth, MN. After attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, he began his career in the accounting department for ConAm Management, Co. in Las Vegas responsible for nearly 10,000 apartment units in 31 buildings. In 1994 he was offered a position with Entronix International, Inc. and transferred to Minneapolis.

He is an active member of the Institute of Managerial Accounting, graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 1990 with a degree in Accounting. Mr. Katz also volunteers as treasurer and on budget planning committees for various charities in the St. Paul area.

As Controller and CFO for Durand & Associates Property Management, Inc., Mr. Katz develops and administers internal accounting controls and oversees daily processing of transactions in accordance with the management contracts. In addition, he prepares all of the financial reports for internal and external purposes, maintains all software, peripherals and network administration.

James R. Anderson

Mr. Anderson joined the management team of Durand & Associates in October of 2011.  He has been in the Manufactured Housing Industry for over 20 years and previously held the position of Division President with Hometown America.

In the 80’s and early 90’s, Mr. Anderson was employed by Carlson Companies International, Inc. (Radisson Hotels) overseeing hotels throughout the Central US and Caribbean.  In 1992, Jim left the hotel business and went to work for NHD Property Management out of Minneapolis who currently owned 7 manufactured home communities and 24 apartment complexes.  In 1994, the 7 communities owned by NHD were acquired by Chateau Communities and Jim went to work for Chateau as a Regional Manager for the Midwest Region managing 22 communities.  In October 2003, Chateau Communities was purchased by Hometown America where he then assumed the position of Divisional President for their Northern Division.

Most recently as the Division President of Hometown America for the Northern Division, he managed 68 communities with a territory from North Dakota to the East Coast.  Mr. Anderson has been on several State Association committees and on the Board of Directors for 4 years as the Regional Director for the Minnesota Manufactured Housing Association.
